I had occasion to set up Windows Server 2008 onto a VMware Server recently. Install went fine, choosing the Windows Server 2003 Enterprise profile. Only problem was that there was no network. I ended up editing the .vmx configuration file and adding the line: Ethernet0.virtualDev = “e1000″ That seemed to solve it. So, if you have network problems with Windows Server 2008 under VMware Server, that might solve it for you too.

It’s that time of the evening. The time when, as I write, I find my use of the backspace key to correct mistakes, increases tenfold. It’s been awhile since I’ve written in here. Again. I always try to write more here but my writing time has been used by other writing projects and software development time. Oh well, happy new year.
